Mission

The Mechatronics and Robotics Laboratory of the Polytechnic Department of Engineering and Architecture at University of Udine contains hardware and instrumentation for the study and research in the fields of Mechatronics, Robotics and Mechanical of Vibrations.

In particular, a three degrees-of-freedom Cartesian manipulator with a spherical wrist is available. This manipulator has an open control system that allows students and researchers to test and validate trajectory planning algorithms on the robot in real-time.

Furthermore, the laboratory offers a six degrees-of-freedom collaborative robot that permits safe human-robot interaction and the execution of tasks in coexistence with human operators.

Finally, instrumentation for data acquisition and control is available in the laboratory, such as data acquisition boards and modules for the interface with different sensors, as for instance thermocouples, accelerometers, strain gauges, and load cells, as well as for the control of electrical motors and actuators.
