Mission

PEL is an electronic laboratory dedicated to the analysis and design of energy conversion circuits and systems. In this facility phd and undergraduate students can design and test power management circuits prototypes.

The design activity is supported by specific simulation  software  as Cadence for IC level design, SIMPLIS/Simetrix for higher level circuit design and ANSYS electronics suit for magnetic passive design, power delivery network analysis and EMI analysis.

Equipment

PEL is an electronic laboratory dedicated to the analysis and design of energy conversion circuits and systems. In this facility phd and undergraduate students can design and test power management circuits prototypes.

The design activity is supported by specific simulation  software  as Cadence for IC level design, SIMPLIS/Simetrix for higher level circuit design and ANSYS electronics suit for magnetic passive design, power delivery network analysis and EMI analysis.

The laboratory equipment for development and testing consist of :

  • 1 GHz digital oscilloscope up to 6 inputs with high voltage and high bandwidth differential probes, High bandwidth current probes and high bandwidth signal differential probes.
  • 4 high 6.5 digit multimeter for high precision efficiency measurement
  • high power DC power supply
    • 500V 20A for higher voltage applications
    • 80V 60A  for lower voltage high current applications
  • High power DC load (80V 600A ) dedicated for high current low voltage applications as processor power supply
  • Thermal camera for loss analysis
  • Network and impedance analyzer specialized for passive impedance measurements and transfer function analysis of control loop systems
  • Solder station

Digital microscope for fast and accurate inspection
